In 1998, after 25 years in the farm supply, seed and custom application business, Bud McKnight focused in on the seed business. Bud McKnight Seeds Ltd. specializes in the marketing of Pioneer Hi-Bred™ brand genetics and Sila-Bac™ forage inoculants, Nuseed™ confection sunflowers, soybean inoculants and bio-yield enhancers. Over the past 5 years we have expanded the product line to include the sale of seed tenders and conveyors.
In 2004, Adam McKnight joined the company, taking over the Operations side of the business including the Plot and Weigh Wagon program, which has given him the product knowledge and "hands on" expertise. Bud and Adam also maintain a personal farming venture which gives them insigth and understanding of a producers' point of view... they understand the need for exceptional service. Recently, Bud McKnight Seeds have expanded their efforts toward increased service by adding an Agronomy division — Grassroots Agronomics, with Mitchell O'Brien, CCA, PAg, heading up this area.
Bud McKnight Seeds and Grassroots Agronomics are available on a full-time, year-round basis to help you with your crop management decisions from seed selection, crop rotation, variety plot information, and agronomy aspects from seeding to harvest. Our aim is to help maximize grower profits by offering high-quality seed products and sound agronomic advice with unparalleled service.
Our business location is 1/8 mile north of the village of Homewood,Manitoba just off #3 Highway. We have a new seed warehouse for bagged seed and a Pro-Bulk Soybean system for bulk hopper scale loading and custom treatment of seed. We can also provide corn and canola seed in bulk for loading into trucks or seed tenders. Access into the yard is convenient for 1/2 tons to super-B's.
